Since 2001, each year during the Passover season, families of B'nai Tikvah have hosted a group of
deserving high-school students from the town of Ramla, Israel. The program was started by our Past
President, Arie Behar, who grew up in Ramla and has had full support of the town's mayor, Yoel Lavi. |
This is the schedule that was used during this past Passover,
subject to small adjustments throughout the 2 week period.

Phone Chain
Every family is given a consecutive list of names and phone numbers.
In case of delays in travel, etc, always call the name beneath yours. If you do not reach someone at their primary number, try their alternates.
If you get an answering machine or voice mail, continue down the list until you actually speak to someone and deliver the message. Then go back to try and reach those you've missed. Do not break the chain.
E-mail updates
Updates, changes, etc. will be posted to BTIYEP@yahoogroups.com every day if necessary. You can check the message board from any computer if you log in with your Yahoo id. For questions about the Yahoo eGroup, contact Gary Bergman, 732 246-7285.
Religious services
Attendance of services is required where indicated. Observance of Shabbat is always encouraged, but in accordance with your lifestyle. No group trip or activity has been scheduled for Shabbat or Yom Tov.
Down time
For many of these students, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Please make it special by making them welcome in your home. Include them in your every day activities, do their laundry when necessary, and remember that your "ordinary" (trip to the supermarket) is their "extraordinary".
