Anti-Semitism
Semi-monthly, Wednesdays at 8:00 pm...
Jan. 8 & 29, Feb. 5 & 19, March 5 & 19, April 2 & 30
The question “Why the Jews?” is usually asked in absurdist fashion, with the implication that there is no good reason for anti-Semites to hate Jews. But this only obscures our understanding of the evil of anti-Semitism. Throughout the history of anti-Semitism, there have been numerous cogent reasons for Jew-hatred, and it serves us well to understand how anti-Semites have seen us, and continue to see us.

Raising Jewish children: a survival guide
Monthly, Sunday mornings at 11:00 am...
Jan. 12, Feb. 2, March 9, April 27, & May 4
When we stand before the Divine Court at the end of our lives, tradition tells us, we will be asked a series of questions. The view from the Pew.
Sunday, January 12, 6:30 pm
The recent Pew Research study on the demography of the American Jewish community hit like a bombshell. The usual handwringing and wailing was in good supply, along with obituaries for the Conservative movement. Since the sky is falling, somebody has to do something. But what? And is the sky really falling?
We’ll tackle the questions in a two part discussion.
1. What does the Pew report actually say? Rabbi Wolkoff will give an analysis of the data.
2. What are we prepared to do about it? Time for brainstorming and sharing, with an eye to B’nai Tikvah’s future programming and direction.
