Our Youth Groups

B'nai Tikvah supports three different youth groups. A pre-Kadima group for third, fourth and fifth graders (new for the 2012-2013 academic year); Kadima for sixth through eighth grades and USY (United Synagogue Youth) for ninth through twelfth grade. Each group has a set calendar of local chapter events while Kadima and USY also have regional events (through the Hagalil Region of United Synagogue) throughout the northern half of the state. Additionally, one week of sleep-away camp (aka Encampment) is offered each summer (usually beginning the third sunday of August) with bus transportation from an area synagogue included in the cost.

These youth groups strengthen and energize our youth's connections to Judaism, the Jewish community and Jewish values, through participation in fun and varied activities, including lock-ins, movie nights, rock-a-thons, dances, pool parties and more.

For the 2011-2012 school year, almost 90 kids participated in USY & Kadima and we are hoping for well over 100 for the coming year!

The Youth Committee

The Youth Committee develops guidelines, establishes policy, directs the focus of our youth groups, and advocates on their behalf within the community and congregation. Following the goals of our youth groups, our Mission is to strengthen and energize our youth's connection to Judaism, the Jewish community and Jewish values through participation in pre-Kadima, Kadima, USY or other related activities. The Committee consists of B'nai Tikvah members who share this mission. New members are always welcome. Please feel free to contact our Committee chair with any questions or concerns.
