Click the right box "Wii Settings". On the 1st screen, note your "Console NickName". The 2nd screen is where you define your "Internet" connection. Click "WiiConnect24" and again. Make sure it is set "On". Go back and click "Standby Connection". Set "Off" to save power.

From the main Wii menu, click the bottom right envelope "Wii Message Board". Click the 2nd left icon "Create Message". Click the Address Book (on the right) Note your console's Wii number to register it on this web page. Click "Register" to link with someone here or anyone else. On the next screen click the left box "Wii". ("Others" refers to non-Wii users.) Enter the registration codes of the people you want to link with.
