B'nai Tikvah needs your help!
One of our principal rooftop heating units has ceased |
![]() Today's challenge is to replace the HVAC unit that heats the Ada Halofsky Social Hall, located directly behind the Sanctuary. Some of you know that this unit hasn't worked for some time. We delayed replacement until now, hoping that the $25,000 cost could be found somewhere in the operating budget without appealing to the membership. That, unfortunately, hasn't happened. We cannot put this off any longer, especially since the winter has been so cold. The only option we have left is to appeal to you directly for your contribution to help pay for this emergency expenditure. Soon, we expect to address the larger issues of synagogue finances and the limitations we face in providing for this sort of essential maintenance. Until then, please don't assume that this need will be met by the deeds of others. During the present national financial crisis, no single donor can, individually, underwrite such a costly repair. Your check is both meaningful and vital to the successful completion of this project. Ours is not now, nor has it ever been -- the kind of congregation where a handful of "machers" solves all the problems and receives all of the credit. Ours is truly an egalitarian cultural and religious community where each member counts and is counted upon, particularly in these troubled economic times. Now, B'nai Tikvah is counting upon all of us who can to do! Whether your contribution be measured by the thousands, by the hundreds, or by some other amount, your help is critically important to the successful completion of this urgent project. We thank you in advance for your generosity. |
